Our Senior side fell to an agonising one point defeat in the Cusack Cup final in Doonbeg in a game played in sweltering conditions. A goal from Darragh McDonagh in Injury time looked like the cup was heading towards Miltown before a long range free from the Lissycasey keeper at the death meant Miltown lost out by a single point.
Lissycasey opened the scoring with a point before Conor Neylon opened Miltowns account with a goal , finishing well after good work from Micheal Murray. Cian Mahony & Cormac Murray added to Miltowns total and as the teams paused for a hydration break Miltown lead by 1-02 to 0-03 . Micheal Murray and Eoin Cleary added further points either side of a Lissycasey score with Cian Mahony knocking over his sceond point of the half , Miltown leading 1-05 to 0-04 with twenty seven minutes on the clock. Lissycasey however hit a purple patch before half time scoring five points to head in at half time leading by 0-9 to Miltowns 1-05.

A fine save from Coilin Hayes denied Lissycasey a goal chance and points from Michael Murray , a Cian Mahony two pointer and a Cormac Murray effort saw Miltown begin to build a bit of momentum leading by a point at the second hydration break .A close in Eoin Cleary free extended the lead before the first of three two point frees from the lissycasey custodian levelled matters. A superb two point effort from Eoin Cleary was answered by two lissycasey points before the keepers second long range effort gave Lissycasey a two point lead as the game went into injury. A two point effort from Cormac Murray dropped in front of the Lissycasey goals and Darragh McDonagh rose highest to flick the ball into the net giving Miltown the slenderest of leads. Lissycasey attacked again and as Miltown were penalised for a breach of the three man up rule, the Lissycasey keeper elected to bring the ball back outside the arc and slotted the free to hand victory to Lissycasey by a single point.
