Our Junior B side fell to a three point defeat to Kilkee on Friday with two early goals proving decisive in the final reckoning. Kilkee indeed had clocked up three goals in the first quarter before Miltown finally got on the scoreboard after 23 minutes with a Paddy Greene point. Miltown went on to add a further five points before the half time whistle Conor Neylon (2), Ronan Keavey (2 Pointer) and a free from Paddy Green leaving three between the sides on a scoreline of Miltown 0-6 Kilkee 3-0
The sides traded scores in the third quarter with Tim Lenihan, Conor Neylon and a two pointer from Paddy Green replying to points from the home side leaving six between the sides with ten minutes to go. Another two point effort and a free from Paddy Greene drew Miltown to a three point defecit before a Gearoid burke point in the 27th minute reduced the arrears to two points, Despite considerable Miltown pressure they were unable to bridge the gap and a Kilkee point at the death meant the home side ran out winners 3-07 to 0-14.
Miltown now face Clooney/Quin in the final game still in with a chance of a semi final place.
