Miltown got back to winning ways in this years Cusack Cup with victory over Kilmurry Ibrickane in Quilty on Friday evening. Kilmurry opened the scoring before Micheal Murray levelled things up after 5 mins with Miltown's opening point.Conor neylon found the back of the net after 8 minutes to give Miltown a lead they held for the rest of the game. Euan Lineen got in on the act with two points to leave the scores 1-03 to 0-2 after 15 minutes. Euan Lineen then palmed the ball to the back of the Kilmurry net after a superb Miltown move covering the length of the field. Further points from Cian Mahony & Michael Murray added to Miltown's total while the home side replied with 1-1 of their own to give a half time score of Miltown 2-05 KIB 1-03.
A great point from Michael Murray got Miltown rolling in the second half as the home side fought to get back into the game . A superb Cian Mahony two pointer on 16 minutes left Miltown 2-08 to 1-06 as the game moved into the closing quarter. Cian then added to his impressive total with a point from a free followed by Miltowns third goal of the evening on the 30 minute mark and despite a late KIB goal, Miltown ran out winners on a scoreline of 3-09 to 2-07
