Our Junior B side got their Division 5 league campaign back on track with a comprehensive victory over Kilrush in a game played in glorious sunshine in Miltown on Saturday afternoon.
Miltown started brightly playing into the Spanish Point end and scores from Eoin Devenney (2) and Ronan Keaveyy had them ahead before Kilrush opened their account with a goal. Miltown responded with an Eanna O'Connor point followed by a smartly taken goal from Eoin Devenney to leave the scoreline 1-4 to 1-1 after 18 minutes. Miltown pushed on as the half wore on and points from Eoin Devenney, Gearoid Burke and an Eanna O'Connor free left the halftime scorline Miltown 1-7 KIlrush 1-1.
The second half started slowly with a Oisin McCarthy point after 10 minutes the first score of the half as a dominant Miltown defence keep the visitors scoreless. Oisin McCarthy added to his total with a goal on sixteen minutes and further points from Oisin Meade, Conal Meade & Sean Hayes saw Miltown run out winners 2-12 to 1-1.
