Our senior side picked up their first win of the O'Gorman Cup with an eight point victory over Shannon Gaels at a very wet and windy Hennessy Memorial Park on Saturday.
Playing with the aid of the conditions Miltown went on a scoring spree in the first half registering an impressive 1-17 including six 2 point efforts and a goal from Gordon Kelly.
Also on the scoresheet in the first half were Eanna O'Connor, Conor Neylon, Micheal Murray, Cian Mahony, Euan Lineen, Oisin Meade & Seanie Malone.
Shannon Gaels notched up 2 points over the first 30 minutes.
The second half was a lot tougher for Miltown as they faced into the testing conditions. Points from Cian Mahony & Micheal Murray were the only additions to the home side scores while Shannon Gaels despite adding 1-9 to their total were unable to reel in the significant half time Miltown lead.
Attention for the Seniors now switches to the first round of the Cusack Cup and the visit of County Champions Eire Og on Friday 6th of March
